The clamping system has jaws (1) carrying one or more holding bodies (7) which can be moved gradually in a guide groove (3) in the jaws and can be locked and released. Workpieces can thus be clamped so that they can be worked from several sides without re-clamping. The guide groove may be T-shaped and undercut.
