The displacement measuring device (10) has a magnet (11) which is polarized in the displacement direction (R) and an associated flux conductor (12) with an inclined oval-shaped surface (13), cooperating with a parallel magnetic field sensitive element (15), e.g. a Hall sensor, providing a signal dependent on the relative position of the flux conductor.
