PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard engine adopting a counter-flow type engine in which lubricating oil is hard to be accumulated in a crank chamber even when it is stored in lying sideways. SOLUTION: The outboard engine 13 is provided with a cylinder 26, a cylinder lock 32, a crankcase 33, a cylinder head 36, an inlet passage and an exhaust passage 42. A piston 28 is installed on the cylinder 26 so that it can slide. The cylinder is formed in the cylinder block 32. The crankcase 33 forms a crank chamber 30 covering a crankshaft side 24 of the cylinder block. The cylinder head 36 covers the combustion chamber 34 side of he cylinder. The inlet passage is formed in a cylinder head and supplies air to the combustion chamber and the exhaust passage is formed in the cylinder head and discharges exhaust gas from the combustion chamber. The inlet passage, exhaust passage and returning oil passage to the crank chamber 146 are placed on the right of he engine. |
