PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing plate clamping device for a printing press with such advantages that a printing plate is hardly deviated when a gripper end is gripped and registering precision can be upgraded and at the same time, a gripper tail needs not be bent by using a special plate bending machine and further, working efficiency improvement and production cost saving can be achieved. SOLUTION: In the gripper end side printing plate clamping device 1 for a printing press, which has a printing plate groove 6 having an open part on the outer peripheral face side of a plate cylinder 2 and a gripper end side upper tooth 4 and a gripper side lower tooth 5 for gripping the gripper end 3a of a printing plate 3, provided in the printing plate groove 6, a guide rod and a vertical movement mechanism 8 are provided in the printing plate groove 6 and the gripper end side lower tooth 5 is fixed to the plate cylinder 2, and at the same time, the gripper end side upper tooth 4 is mounted in parallel to the gripper end side lower tooth 5 in a vertically movable manner with the help of the guide rod and the vertical movement mechanism 8. In addition, the chuck base 3a of the printing plate 3 is introduced into a space between the gripper end side upper tooth 4 and the gripper end side lower tooth 5 as structural features.
