PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide meso-porous materials which do not cause a substantial reduction in pore diameter and pore volume by introduction of an organic group thereinto. SOLUTION: Organic/inorganic porous materials have a main chain having a metal atom, an oxygen atom and an organic group having at least one carbon atom, the metal atom, the oxygen atom and the organic group bonding with one another and the organic group bonding with the metal atom at least two sites and have pores in which not less than 60% total pore volume is included in the range of ±40% of the pore diameter showing a maximum peak in the distribution curve of pores.
