PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound composed of a specific diazo compound, having low water content and useful as a positive-type offset printing material for heat-mode recording. SOLUTION: The objective compound is expressed by formula [X is O or N-R (R is an organic group to give Ph-NH-R having a dissociation pKa of <=14); Q is an organic group; P is an organic linking group; ZA and ZB are each an organic group formed by the intramolecular cyclization with an intermediate generated by the decomposition of diazonio group; and (k) is 0 or 1]. The compound of formula can be produced by stirring sodium naphtholsulfonate and water under cooling, adding NaNO2 to the mixture, stirring the mixture, dropping a solution of H2SO4 to obtain crystal, adding NaOH to the compound, adding Na2S2O4 to the obtained solution to form crystal, dropping NaNO2 to a mixture of the compound, water and CuSO4 under cooling and stirring, adding the obtained compound to ClSO3H and SOCl2 stirring the product, dropping ammonia water to the mixture of the obtained compound and dimethylacetamide, separating the precipitated crystal by filtration and washing the product. |
