PURPOSE: A method for auctioning freight on a computer network is provided to share wide selection opportunities between a consignor and a freight company, and to supply freight information in real time, by concluding a freight contract as the freight company participates in a bid for the freight information registered by the consignor on a computer network. CONSTITUTION: A computer network includes at least more than one computer terminal of a consignor/conditional consignor computer/freight company, an auction server, an e-mail server and a communication line connecting the respective terminals, the auction server and the e-mail server. A method for auctioning freight on the computer network, comprises the steps as follows. The consignor or conditional consignor registers freight information to the auction server through the computer terminal. Bid requirements are decided when the freight company registers bid information through the computer terminal of the freight company according to the freight information. The freight company registers the bid information to the auction server through the computer terminal of the freight company according to the freight information. The bid information is processed and displayed in a sequence order of freight companies closer to a bid. And the auction server informs the successful bid to a terminal of the freight company making the successful bid through the e-mail server, based on the processed and displayed result.
