PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer having a wide molecular weight distribution and a flow property suitable for blow molding or extrusion molding, with an extremely high activity. SOLUTION: This polymerization process uses a catalyst component comprising (A) a chromium oxide catalyst component which is supported on a refractory compound and is activated through calcining under a non-reductive atmosphere, (B) a titanium catalyst component comprising magnesium, titanium and a halogen as essential components and (C) and organic aluminum compound of the formula: R(3-n)-Al-Ln (wherein R is an alkyl group having a carbon number of 1 or larger but smaller than 12; L is a 1-8C alkoxy group or phenoxy group; and (n) is a real number larger than 0.5 but smaller than 1).
