发明名称 ENGINE CONTROL SYSYTEM AND METHOD FOR VEHICLES HAVING AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
摘要 PURPOSE: An engine control unit and method thereof outputs an engine stop demand signal from a TCU to an ECU for preventing the damage of a transmission when a driver of a reversing car faster than 10 Kph, changes a gearshift lever from an R range to a D range. CONSTITUTION: An engine control unit of a vehicle having an automatic transmission comprises a car traveling condition perceiving unit(10), a TCU(20) and an ECU(30). The car traveling condition perceiving unit(10) perceives a throttle valve opening, a car velocity, a rotational frequency of a turbine, a rotational frequency of an engine, the signal of a gearshift and the signal of an accelerator switch. The TCU(20) outputs an engine stop demand signal if a driver changes instantaneously a gearshift from a R range to a D range in a vehicle which is going to move backward with above the speed of 10Kph after receiving an electric signal from the car traveling condition perceiving unit(10). Here, the speed of 10Kph is a fixed standard car velocity for prohibiting a speed changing from an R range to other range. The ECU(30) shuts off the outputs of a fuel injection signal and ignition signal for stopping an engine according to an engine stop demand signal outputted from the TCU(20), thereby improving the durability of an automatic transmission and preventing the damage of an automatic transmission.
