PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a target processor to execute an application program, even if an operating system combined with it is not installed on the target processor by modifying a start file for supporting bootstrap loading from alternative activatable medium. SOLUTION: A computer system 100 includes a processor 110, a system random access memory 120, a system read-on by memory 122, a CD-ROM drive 132, etc. In this case, bootstrap loading is transferred from a persistent magnetic recording medium into an alternative activatable medium to generate a persistent activatable image for the usage of the alternative activatable medium and a nonpersistent activatable image. Then the activation file for supporting the bootstrap loading is modified from the alternative activatable medium to generate an activatable operating system image on an activatable medium in place of the persistent activatable medium capable of generating an alternative activatable medium.
