<p>Chemically modified polypeptides in which at least one of the hydroxyl groups is modified with a polyalkylene glycol derivative. Such a modification can increase a polypeptides resistance to protease, freezing, thawing and denaturing agents. Polypeptides that are specifically mentioned include asparaginase, glutaminase, uricase, superoxide dismutase, lactoferin, streptokinase, plasmin, adenosine deaminase, interleukin-1 to 13, interleukin-15, interferon- alpha , interferon- beta , interferon- gamma and more particularly, human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (hG-CSF). Also described is the use of modified hG-CSF for the treatment of reduced granulocytes or thrombocytes.</p> |
