<p>A solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell comprises a plurality of film-electrode units, each including solid polymer electrolyte on film between a fuel electrode and an air electrode, and the film-electrode units are stacked with separators between them. The separator is composed of a metal-nonmetal composite, which includes a fuel gas channel, an oxidant channel, and a coolant channel. The separator has metal faces in contact with the coolant channel and nonmetal faces in contact with the film-electrode units. Since the separator is lightweight, airtight and capable of maintaining its shape, the solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell can maintain its stabilized high performance for a long time.</p> |
