ASYNCHRONOUS TRANSFER MODE E1 INTERFACE OF IMT-2000 CONTROL STATION

PURPOSE: An asynchronous transfer mode E1 interface of the IMT-2000 control station is provided so that all kind of traffics can be transmitted through ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) cells between a control station and a base station, by processing AAL 2 ATM cells for ATM switching by users. CONSTITUTION: A line interface part(100) carries out a function interfacing physically to an E1 transfer line connected with a base station. An AAL2 processor part(200) separates the cells comprising voice data from the ATM cells transmitted from the line interface part(100) and converts them into ATM cells by users. An ATM cell multiplexing/demultiplexing part(300) multiplexes the ATM cells transmitted from the AAL2 processor part(200) and demultiplexes the ATM cells from an ATM switch side. A cell bus interfacing and routing part(400) interfaces the multiplexed ATM cells at the ATM cell multiplexing/demultiplexing part(300) to a cell bus and transmits them to the ATM switch. A CPU module(500) performs the whole control function of an ATM E1 interface.
