PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable one worker to simply and rapidly perform the separating/ coating work of the shaft part of a roll and the output shaft part of a drive unit when a coating unit is replaced in a coating apparatus. SOLUTION: A joint support device 12 for joining the shaft part 4a of the roll 4 provided to a coating unit 2 arranged in a freely movable manner and the output shaft part 3a of a drive unit 3 in a separable manner and advancing and retreating between the advance position F for supporting an offset shaft coupling 5 in a joined state and a retreat position G not coming into contact with the offset shaft coating 5 is provided. The coating unit 2 is made freely movable along the direction crossing the axis direction k of the roll 4 at a right angle, and the shaft part 4a of the roll 4 in a mounting state and the offset shaft coupling 5 are made separable and the joint support device 12 is equipped with a support part 14 for supporting the offset shaft coupling 5 and a holding part 17 fixed and arranged so as to hold the support part 14. By this constitution, the support part 14 can be moved in an up-and-down direction and the axis direction k between the advance position F and the retreat position G with respect to the holding part 17.
