PURPOSE: A method and system for remotely monitoring meter are provided to send and receive the amount used through a telephone line. CONSTITUTION: A method and system for remotely monitoring meter includes a gauge for measuring the amount used. A subscriber transmitting device modifies the signal of measured amount used into a signal tone and send it to a provider through automatic dialing. A provider's receiving device demodulates the transmitted signal tone and saves the amount used. A data processing device produces data in a desired form. A printing device prints out data produced by the data processing device.
