PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder which can print normally on a recording medium even when it is used after long time stoppage or in a high temperature atmosphere. SOLUTION: A controller is provided with an abnormal state decision unit 1 for a nozzle ejecting ink or for a gutter collecting unused ink. The decision unit 1 comprises a main control section 2 and a timer drive section 3 having a timer 3b for delivering a signal at a preset timing and starting up the main control section 2. A CPU 2b makes a decision whether the r.p.m. of a pump 2f for supplying ink from an ink supply tube to a print head or the pressure of a pressure gauge 2e for the ink supply tube is normal or not. If it is normal, a solvent is supplied to the nozzle for cleaning and a decision is made whether it is collected normally in a gutter. If it is abnormal, abnormal state is stored in a memory 2c and an informing section 4 is actuated. |
