The present invention relates to a self-supporting step-ladder comprising a step portion (1), a supporting portion (3) having an adjustable length, and a hinge device (15) and means (16) to fix the angle between the step portion (1) and the supporting portion (3) in the position of use of said ladder, said hinge device (15) being located between the step portion (1) and the supporting portion (3) in order to pivotally connect said portions to each other. A problem in connection with ladders of the type defined above is to use them in stairs. Significant for a ladder according to the present invention is that the hinge device (15) may assume at least two different positions of use, which are located apart from each other along the longitudinal direction of the step portion (1). |
