SUBSTANCE: medium for accumulation and isolation of cholera vibrion has the following components, g/l: dried fermentative peptone, 3.0-4.0; sodium chloride, 5.0-6.0; potassium nitrate, 0.1-0.12; sodium carbonate, 2.5-2.6; and distilled water up to 1 l, pH = 8.4 ± 0.2. Decrease of peptone content in medium by 2-3-fold and balance of composition ensure to provide the growth requirement of cholera vibrio.
