PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel imide compound that gives cured products of high heat resistance by low-temperature condensation reaction in the presence of a catalyst. SOLUTION: This novel imide compound is represented by formula I (R0 is a 6-30C tetravalent aromatic group; R1 is a 1-20C divalent alkylene, phenylene, or the like, R2 is a 1-20C alkyl, a 6-20C aryl or the like; X is a halogen, an acyloxy or the like; (a) is 1-3C), typically a compound of formula II. The compound of formula I is prepared, for example, by allowing an aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydride, for example, 3,3',4,4'-diphenylsulfonetetracarboxylic dianhydride to react with an alkenyl group-bearing amine, for example, allylamine or the like in an organic polar solvent, for example, N,N- dimethylacetamide or the like to give a solution of an amidic acid, heating the amidic acid and allowing a compound of formula III (X' is OH, hydrolyzable groups) (for example, methyl-diacetoxysilane or the like) to react with the resultant compound to effect hydrosilylation. |
