PURPOSE: A method for executing application programs is provided to execute many application programs and a Java application program on the internet in a network computer(NC) executing only one application program. CONSTITUTION: A method for executing many application programs comprises a desktop manager, an application manager, and a task manager. The desktop manager supplies an environment enabling to execute application programs such as an application program registration, a change and deletion of information, and a user interface. The application manager stores and maintains information on an application program registered to easily manage an application program. And the task manager maintains and manages a task of an application program being executed presently. The application manager stores and manages information, such as a name of an application program to be used by the desktop manager, a code of class having a main method executed by the desktop manager instead of a main method of an application program, and an address/icon/parameter of an application program having compression files executed when an application is on the internet.
