PURPOSE: A method for managing a link between a network management center and a mediation device, is provided to prevent a data loss, by having an additional processor sensing a link with the network management center in the mediation device, stopping data transmission of network management data and performing back-up when a link fault is generated. CONSTITUTION: A network management center and a mediation device have a management processor, a link monitoring processor and a network management data processor. The management processor performs communication with a processor collecting/transmitting network management data inside an exchange, and generally manages a link. The link monitoring processor periodically monitors a link to the network management center. And the network management data processor transmits network management data to an external network management center with a transmission control protocol/internet protocol(TCP/IP) link. A method for managing a link between the network management center and the mediation device, comprises the steps as follows. A link with the network management center is periodically monitored in the link monitoring processor. When blocking without a response from the network management center is generated while a link with the network management center is periodically monitored in the link monitoring processor, the generation of blocking is informed to the management processor. Network management data transmission to the network management center is suspended and back-up of the network management data is performed, by controlling the network management data transmission processor in the management processor where the link blocking with the network management center is informed. The data performed back-up are transmitted to the network management center, by controlling the network management data transmission processor when a link with the network management center is restored.
