CALL IN PROCESS METHOD USING IP ADDRESS IN MULTIMEDIA SATELLITE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A call in process method using IP(Internet Protocol) address in multimedia satellite communication system is provided to improve efficiency of providing Internet service to subscribers by assigning a specific IP address for call in control. CONSTITUTION: Multimedia satellite communication system has a district center, which connects with Internet physically or multiple multimedia servers, and a station, which connects with communication terminals physically. The station provides Internet or multimedia service through satellite. The district center broadcasts IP address for call control to each settop box, and each settop box stores the broadcasts IP address for call control. The district center acknowledges call status of subscriber receiving IP packet when the IP address arrives. The district center assembles call in request message based on fixedly assigned IP address for a subscriber and IP address for call control, if the subscriber has not established any path. A settop box extracts corresponding message based on IP address of the settop box. The settop box checks whether the extracted message includes IP address for call control. The settop box informs a personal computer of call in request if the extracted message contains IP address for call control and the connected personal computer is at on state. The settop box transmits prescribed call in success message to the district center. The district center changes status of corresponding subscriber after receiving the call in success message from the settop box.
