PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling traffic signal is provided to reduce a traffic by automatizing a traffic signal control circuit by a function of a temperature sensor so as to extend a pass signal lamp toward a jamming region. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling traffic signal comprises a lamp driving part and a signal control part. The lamp driving part drives pass, stop and standby lamps individually. The signal control part controls the lamp driving part by realizing an on and off time sequence of the respective lamps by a program using a program logic circuit. The signal control part consists of a timer, output points of contact, and a system controller. The counter counts an on and off time of each lamp, and the output points of contact applies an output signal of the timer to the signal driving part. The system controller controls the timer.
