PURPOSE: An inserting device of a core and a casting method are provided to improve the quality of an ingot and the productivity and to reduce a producing process. CONSTITUTION: An inserting device of a core contains a core holder(120) to fix a metal core(110); a lifting device(130) to lift the core holder(120); a hollow supporting rod(140) to support the lifting device(130); a rotating device(150) to rotate the core holder(120), the lifting device(130) and the supporting rod(140); a motor(162) to generate power for driving the lifting device(130) and the rotating device(150); power transferring devices(160,180,184,182) to transfer the power from the motor to the lifting device and the rotating device; and a controller to control the lifting device, the rotating device and the motor. The metal core(110) is transferred to a melted liquid inlet of a mold. The metal core(110) is inserted into a hollow of the mold through the melted liquid inlet. The metal core(110) is arranged in the upper center of a starting head. Melted liquid is injected into the mold by gradually dropping the metal core(110) and the starting head. The melted liquid is hardened and an ingot is ejected from the mold.
