PURPOSE: An invar type alloy wire and manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve productivity by improving toughness of the invar type alloy wire, particularly torsion properties, and lowering the manufacturing cost for a material. CONSTITUTION: In a method for manufacturing an invar type alloy wire which is used as a high voltage transmission cable or a mechanical component, the method for manufacturing the invar type alloy wire comprises the processes of first wire drawing an invar type alloy wire rod to 30 to 70%, wherein the invar type alloy wire comprises 33.00 to 38 wt.% of Ni, 0.50 to 1.00 wt.% of Co, 0.01 to 1.30 wt.% of Nb, 0.50 to 4.00 wt.% of Mo, 0.20 to 1.50 wt.% of Cr, 0.05 to 0.35 wt.% of C, 0.10 to 1.20 wt.% of Si, 0.10 to 0.90 wt.% of Mn, 0.10 wt.% or less of Mg, 0.10 wt.% or less of Ti and a balance of Fe, and wherein the sum of the Mo and Cr (Mo+Cr) is 1.2 to 5.0 wt.%, the sum of Nb and C (Nb+C) is 0.10 to 0.60 wt.%; annealing the first wire drawn wire rod at a temperature of 650 to 850 deg.C for less than 15 hours; second wire drawing the annealed wire rod to 95% or less so that an area ratio of precipitates inside the lateral crystal grains of the final alloy wire is 15% or more. |
