PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the strength of an enclosure and at the same time improve reading accuracy. SOLUTION: An optical pick-up device is provided with a semiconductor laser 10 with a laser chip for emitting a light beam toward a storage M, a polarization beam splitter 2 for branching the light beam while being provided between the semiconductor laser 10 and the storage M, a photo detector for receiving a light beam being reflected by the storage M while being arranged near the laser chip, an enclosure 1 for retaining the semiconductor laser 10 and the polarization beam splitter 2 in one piece, and a reinforcement plate 1a for reinforcing the enclosure 1 while being provided between the semiconductor laser 10 and the polarization beam splitter 2. In this case, an elliptical opening part 1b where the light beam passes is provided at the reinforcement plate 1a. |
