PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferritic stainless steel sheet excellent in surface characteristic ad ridging characteristic and requiring no increase in costs, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The ferritic stainless steel sheet excellent in surface characteristic and ridging characteristic has a composition which consists of, by weight, >0.025-0.1% C, 10-25% Cr, 0.01-0.5% Ti, 0.0005-0.01% Mg, 0.005-0.05% N, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and which the value of Ap determined from equation Ap=420(%C)+470(%N)+23(%Ni)+9(%Cu)+7(%Mn)--11.5(% Cr)-11.5(%Si)-12(%Mo)-(%V)-47(%Nb)-49(%Ti)-52(%Al)+189 is regulated to 10-70. Further, Mg-containing oxide grains of 0.01-5μm maximum diameter exist in >=3 pieces/mm2 density in the cross section of the steel sheet.
