SOLUTION: An article storage facility is provided with an article storage shelf provided with a plurality of article storage parts, an article handling part in which an article to be carried in is carried in from the outside, or an article to be carried out is carried outside, and an article carrying means to carry the article between the article handling part 3 and a plurality of article storage parts 1, an article transfer part BI which is capable of transferring the article between the article carrying means and itself, and carrying in the article from the outside, or carrying out the article to the outside and an article relaying part BU capable of carrying in the article from the outside or carrying out the article to the outside are continuously provided in the article handling part, and cargo handling and carrying means 90, 91, 92 to carry the articles between the article transfer part BI and the article relaying part BU are provided.
