PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new artificial operon capable of expressing a foreign protein in a solubilized state of maintaining a normal steric structure by containing genes encoding trigger factors, GroEL and GroES respectively. SOLUTION: This trigger factor-expressing plasmid is a new artificial operon containing genes encoding trigger factors, GroEL and GroES respectively, can express a foreign protein such as an interferon, an interleukin, an interleukin receptor, a microsomal colony-stimulating factor, etc., in a solubilized state of maintaining a normal steric structure and useful for the production, etc., of the foreign protein. The artificial operon is obtained by cutting off a fragment containing tig gene from Ohara clone No. 148 with a restricting enzyme, smoothing terminals and linking it in a downstream of the GroEL gene in a pGrol1 plasmid containing GroEL gene and GroES gene. |
