PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the adhesion of coating to the back of a panel to be coat ed. SOLUTION: In the coating method, the upper and tip surfaces of a panel 1 are coated by passing the panel 1 through the curtain flow 3 of a coating flowing down from a curtain flow coater 2. A contact body 5 is fitted swingably to a shaft 52 installed in the width direction of the panel 1 in front of the curtain flow 3, the lower edge of the tip surface of the panel 1 is brought into contact with the contact body 5 to swing the contact body 5, and the lower surface of the panel 1 is slid on the upper end part of the swinging contact body 5 to prevent the adhesion of the coating of the curtain flow 3 to the under surface of the panel 1.
