The present invention relates to a device for actuating a unit that actuates household appliances, especially electric razors. Said actuating unit can be driven in a rotatory oscillating manner. The inventive actuating device is provided with a permanent magnet motor which is provided with a stator comprising an exciting winding and a rotor that is arranged in the stator field and is rotationally mounted around a rotational axis. Said rotor is provided with at least one permanent magnet. The inventive actuating device is also provided with a readjusting device which readjusts the rotor into a neutral position in such a way that the rotor can oscillate around the neutral position. The inventive device is also provided with a coupling device which couples the rotor to the actuating unit. Said coupling device is fixed to the rotor at a certain distance from the rotational axis. The inventive device also comprises a detector which detects the oscillatory movements of the rotor and an actuating device which actuates the permanent magnet according to the oscillatory movements thus detected. Frequency control means which have a frequency which corresponds approximately to the resonance frequency of the rotor are provided in order to control the permanent magnet motor.
