PURPOSE: A method for forming a light absorbing layer of a color display device is provided to lessen the number of the manufacturing processes, thereby reducing the manufacturing cost. CONSTITUTION: A light absorbing layer is formed in the panel of a color image display device. A photosensitive layer is formed by coating a photosensitive liquid on the interior of the panel. A light absorbing powder material is coated on the upper surface of the photosensitive layer. A light absorbing layer pattern is formed by the drying, the exposing, and the developing.
