DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CUTTING USING LASER

PURPOSE: A cutter and a cutting method are provided to cut a glass base plate for LCD(liquid crystal display) panel in an adhesive state by using laser beams and to prevent a defect of cutting line generated in a starting and a finishing ends of cutting line during cutting the glass base plate and the panel. CONSTITUTION: In cutting a cutting object having a cross cutting line with a laser, a first cutting line and a first starting point of cutting of object are detected. A laser beam is irradiated via the first cutting line according to the detected signal of the first cutting line and the first starting point of cutting and the first cutting line irradiated the laser beam is rapidly cooled. When a second starting point of cutting of the second cutting line is detected, a preliminary cutting groove is formed in a starting end of the second cutting line. Then the laser beam is irradiated from the starting end to a finishing end of the second cutting line and the second cutting line irradiated the laser beam is rapidly cooled.
