摘要 PURPOSE: A device and a method for controlling a servo to compensate a upper and a lower eccentric amounts of optical disc are provided to prevent a playing error by the upper and the lower eccentric amounts of optical disc by setting and limiting a maximum speed to be able to normally play with detecting the upper and the lower eccentric amounts of optical disc. CONSTITUTION: An optical disc is rotated by driving a spindle motor at a regular speed. A upper and a lower eccentric amounts of the rotated optical disc are detected and the upper and the lower eccentric amounts of the rotated optical disc are compensated by limiting a driving speed of spindle motor according to the detected upper and the lower eccentric amounts. The upper and the lower eccentric amounts is detected based on a detected amplitude of a center error of an objective lens in a state cut a tracking servo operation. Thereby the device and the method for controlling a servo to compensate the upper and the lower eccentric amounts of optical disc prevent a playing error with the upper and the lower eccentric amount of optical disc by setting and limiting the maximum playing speed to be able to normally play.
