PURPOSE: A method for processing an alarm in a communication network management system is provided to detect a trouble quickly and thereby improve the reliability of a line and the efficiency of a trouble management, by enabling an efficient monitoring of an alarm situation on an exclusive communication network. CONSTITUTION: An alarm processing server try to connect to a graphic server and facility managing server (401), and checks the success of the connection thereto (402). The alarm processing server determines whether it has received a message from a digital cross-connected system (DCS) if it succeeds in the connection (403). The received message is analyzed by a look-ahead left recursive (LALR) parsing method of a compiler tool (404). According the determination of the type of the analyzed message (405), a state of the alarm is registered (406). It is checked whether an alarm message received 3 minutes ago exists (411). The alarm message is registered as a troubled one (412). An alarm state in an alarm database which corresponds to the alarm message is updated as an error (413), and then alarm details are sent to the graphic server and facility managing server (414).
