PURPOSE: A device and a method for controlling coolant flux of a compressor are provided to increase motive power by limiting coolant flux sucked by a compressor cylinder and by reducing load across a motor when an inverter refrigerator first moves. CONSTITUTION: A compressor(30) is no more driven when refrigerator temperature is less than the standard temperature. A drive signal generator(60) sends a turn-off signal to a drive controller(70). The drive controller turns off a flux controller(40) and operates a timer(80) at the same time. After passing some time, the drive controller turns off the compressor. When the refrigerator temperature is more than the standard temperature, the compressor is driven to lower the temperature. The drive controller drives the compressor and operates the timer at the same time.
