PURPOSE: A method for controlling camera zooming in a video conference system is provided to control the zoom in/zoom out of a camera according to the distance of the camera and an object. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling camera zooming in a video conference system includes six steps. At the first step(S100), voices of participants are collected. At the second step(S110), the speaker is tracked using the collected voices. At the third step(S120), camera is positioned to the direction of the tracked source. At the forth step(S130), a microwave is transmitted and received for distance estimation. At the fifth step(S140), the distance is estimated using the result of the forth step. At the sixth step(S150), the zoom in/zoom out is controlled according to the results of previous steps.
