PURPOSE: An information collecting system using a cellular phone is provided to reduce the time and cost for a questionnaire survey and collect much more information correctly, by obtaining desired information through the questionnaire using a cellular phone. CONSTITUTION: A base station transmits a questionnaire including certain items to a cellular phone, and receives the information related to responses from the cellular phone to collect and analyze the received information. The cellular phone receives the questionnaire from the base station, and transmits the information about the responses by users to the base station. The base station uses a short sentence message service when it transmits the questionnaire. The cellular phone records a response to the questionnaire in a message of a typical message transfer service, and transmits a subscriber number and specific number with the message. If the base station receives the message with the specific number, it detects the responses to the questionnaire and thereby collects the information.
