METHOD FOR ANALYZING ACID GAS IN CLAUS PLANT USING GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY

PURPOSE: A method for analyzing acid gas in CLAUS plant using gas chromatography is provided to precisely analyze ammonia, dihydrogen sulfide and water etc. which are major components of the acid gas to be treated in CLAUS plant with single injection without corrosion of the column. CONSTITUTION: A method for analyzing ammonia, dihydrogen sulfide and water etc. which are major components of the acid gas to be treated in CLAUS plant using gas chromatography comprises the following steps: a) preparing a column made of Teflon; b) packing Hysep Q at the top of the column by the length more than 2.0m and Porapak T at the bottom by the length more than 0.5m in the direction of the flow of the acid gas to be analyzed; c) pretreating the packed column by heating the column at 180-210°C with flowing inert gas; and d) passing the acid gas to be analyzed into the pretreated column and analyzing it.
