PURPOSE: An automatic polishing device of a rotary roll is provided to improve the quality of a strip surface by automatically removing dents on the surface of a rotary roll transferring a strip. CONSTITUTION: A strip passes a cool polishing process after a hot polishing process. After offering a heat resource to the surface of a strip to make possible plating work in a heating furnace, a zinc coating work is completed by passing a zinc plating furnace. Herein, a dent is produced. To remove the dents, an automatic polishing device is installed on the lower of a rotary roll. A pinion gear in a gear box(31) moves a rack(34) up and down by driving a motor(33). A first trolley(40) and a second trolley(50) move upward. If the automatic polishing device is placed under the rotary roll, a motor(54) is driven to move the second trolley to the left and right. The second trolley is placed under the rotary roll accurately. Herein, the second trolley is slid on the upper part of a rail(53). By moving forward support stands(60,61) by driving cylinders(70,71), a polishing piece(80) contact to the rotary roll. The surface of the rotary roll is polished. Thereby alien materials on the surface of the rotary roll are removed.
