PURPOSE: A computer system with power management function is disclosed to supply power to slot expansion in S3 mode and for efficient and effective management of its power consumption through computer system. CONSTITUTION: A computer system with power management function is composed of conversion and distribution. The computer system possesses power supply(10), which converts the inputed AC power to various voltage levels of DC power and distributes it. (10)'s outgoing power is directed to the destination through several power switching circuits(80,81,82,83). (10) and power switching circuits operate under power management system(60)'s control. (10) distributes various voltage levels of power, and as standby power first and second standby power is distributed in segregated form. (10) is equipped with first and second regulators to generate standby power. First switching circuit(80) connects to CPU(20) and (10), and distributes or retains power under (60)'s control. Second switching circuit(81) connects to several PCI slots and (10), and (60) conducts switching. Third switching circuit(82) connects to (60) and (10), and first standby power, converted from 5V to 3.3V, is sent to (60), under (60)'s supervision in S3 mode.
