PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of transfer programs for performing data transfer between application programs. SOLUTION: Scanner control software 202 selects a target transfer destination module according to a specified transfer destination application 122 selected by a user. A target transfer destination module 204 selects an access mechanism and loads an access mechanism transfer destination module 206 that is suitable to the selected access mechanism. The module 206 selects one data format and loads a format transfer destination module 208 that is suitable to the selected data format. Data which is prepared by the software 202 and formatted by the module 208 can be transferred from an image storing part 216. All of these modules utilize the same interface.
