PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a communication system whose communication capacity is increased while suppressing unnecessary interference power onto other communication party. SOLUTION: When a 2nd communication station 13 receives a transmission signal sent from a 1st communication station 11, an SIR measurement circuit 18 of a 2nd communication station 13 measures a signal to interference power ratio (SIR) of a received signal, a comparator circuit 22 compares the SIR with a known reference signal versus interference power ratio and the 2nd communication station 13 transmits a transmission power control signal PW to the 1st communication station 11 to instruct the station 11 to increase/ decrease the transmission power depending on the comparison result. In this case, an SIR measurement history circuit 30 records an SIRK history of the received signal and updates an initial value of the reference SIR stored in a RAM 29 according to the history result.
