PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cook rice without discharging steam to the outside of a rice cooker by providing a second space for collecting steam generated during cooking rice and a cooling means and permitting the cooling means to collect and condense steam by means of cooling the second space. SOLUTION: Air tightness in a pot 12 and a lid 13 is held by a packing 14 such as rubber, a large spoon 17 is stored in the first space 18 and steam generated during cooking rice is collected by the second space 19. Then the collected steam is condensed and collected by cooling the second space 19 by the cooling means 20 consisting of a cooling fan and a heat discharge fin or the like so that rice is cooked without discharging steam to the outside of a rice cooker main body 11. Thus, the large spoon 17 is sterilized by generated steam and also the rice cooker main body 11 is made to be compact.
