SOLUTION: A control means of peripheral equipment is provided with a locale ID which is environment information such as a country, and a resource file corresponding to an acquired locale ID is retrieved (S602). Control information for the peripheral equipment which changes in accordance with environment information is recorded on the resource file, and processing such as setting is performed on the basis of the information (S605). The locale ID is stored so that it can be used in subsequent processing (S606).
