PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molten steel fluidity control device in a mold for continuous caster, with which the whole molten steel stream in the mold in a continuous caster can accurately be restrained and the quality of the mold piece can sufficiently contribute to improve. SOLUTION: In this molten metal fluidity control device, magnetic field generating means which are disposed so as to be faced by interposing long side copper plates 1 to the mold vessel for storing the poured molten steel from spouting holes of an immersion nozzle 3 and regulating to the prescribed shape and composed of mutually faced long side copper plates 1 and short side copper plates 2 and also, generate the magnetic field impressed to the molten steel for restraining the molten steel stream 6 showing the stream of the molten steel in the mold vessel, are composed of one pair of center part coils 4 for generating a cusp magnetic field BX so that the coil center agrees upon the spouting holes and two pairs of short side coils 5 for generating cusp magnetic fields BY, BZ in the perpendicular direction to the molten steel stream 6 so that the coil centers agree upon the centers of the molten steel stream 6.
