PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the phase adjustment of the teeth of left and right driving sprockets in the driving device of a passenger conveyor. SOLUTION: In a passenger conveyor provided with a pair of tread chains, to which a tread is connected, driving sprockets individually supported to respectively drive the pair of tread chains, and a driving machine for transmitting power to these respective driving sprockets via a gear transmission mechanism divided into two systems, transfer adjusting mechanisms 22 to 24 are provided in the midway of one power transmission path of the two-system gear transmission mechanism.
