PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve rigidity and durability by providing a protection plate capable of enduring point load between a surface material and a middle core material. SOLUTION: A tatami mat surface 3 is wound around the periphery of a middle core material 7, and a cushion material 9 is provided between the middle core material 7 and the tatami mat surface 3. A flat plate reinforcing member 13 is provided along the width direction of the tatami mat surface in the inside of the corner part 11 of the tatami mat surface 3 between the middle core material 7 and the tatami mat surface 3. A veneer plate 15 being the protection plate of substantially the same size as the middle core material 7 is provided on the side of the carpet 5 of the middle core material 7, which is not deformed by point load applied on a floor material by the legs of a chair and a table. The cushion material 19 of thickness corresponding to the folding-back part 17 of the tatami mat surface is provided on the side of the carpet 5 of the veneer plate 15, and a face tape 21 is provided on the rear side immediately after the carpet 5. Thereby the floor material is lightweight and has high rigidity and durability.
