PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor moved in circulation without deforming the entire shape of a step while the tread surface of this step is kept face-up, and capable of smoothly transfer the step when the moving direction of the step is changed. SOLUTION: A passenger conveyor is provided with a front shaft 9 towed by a step chain, a front wheel 10 attached to the front shaft 9, a front wheel rail 14 for guiding the front wheel 19, a rear wheel 12 disposed on the inner locus of the front wheel 10, a rear wheel rail 15 for guiding the rear wheel 12, and a step 2 moved following the rolling of the front and rear wheels 10 and 12. This conveyor is further provided with a notched part 18 provided in the rear wheel rail 14 near a lower floor landing port 4 reversing the moving direction of the step 2 and adapted to always form an opening for the insertion of the bearing of the front shaft 9, an auxiliary rail 17 disposed on a rear wheel pressing rail 16 near the notched part 18, and an auxiliary roller 13 disposed on the step 2 to roll on the auxiliary rail 17.
