PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the capturing efficiency of a filter material for air filter and also to suppress the pressure loss from becoming larger compared with the case where the filter material is heat-fused by binding a polytetrafluoroethylene porous membrane and a permeable porous membrane with an unsupported fibrous or knotted connected fibrous hot melt adhesive. SOLUTION: In the porous material having a polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) porous membrane and a permeable supporting material laminated on at least one surface of the porous membrane, the PTFE porous membrane and the permeable supporting material are combined by interposing an unsupported fibrous or knotted connected fibrous hot melt adhesive. Then, the filter material for air filter, the filter supporting body and the air filter unit including the filter material for the air filter mounted to the supporting body is constituted by using the porous material. And the supporting material of the filter material for the air filter is formed with the permeable supporting material and the unsupported fibrous or knotted connected fibrous hot melt adhesive formed at least one part of the surface of the supporting material.
